Burnt Planet is a global Natural Resource and Land Management tool. It provides real time access to global hotspot data generated by the MODIS sensors aboard the Terra & Aqua satellites.

The data is processed by FIRMS (The Fire Information for Resource Management System) at The University of Marylands.

Data can up to 24 hours old and maybe have accuracy to 1500 metres.

Some hotspots detected are not fires. Some hotspots are not detected because of smoke or cloud cover.

This data is for reference purposes only.

DO NOT RELY ON THIS APP OR ITS DATA IN A WILDFIRE EMERGENCY.
